Clean Coal Technology
Clean coal technology involves technological developments aimed at eliminating or reducing pollution to maximize the benefits of using coal as fuel while minimizing environmental impact. This is especially important for issues like particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides.
The clean coal technology process has 4 steps:
1. Pre-combustion: Cleaning and removing impurities from coal before burning using physical, chemical, and biological methods.
2. Combustion: Improving furnaces and boilers to increase coal burning efficiency and reduce combustion pollutants.
3. Post-combustion: Eliminating pollutants generated from combustion and preventing environmental impact after coal burning.
4. Coal conversion: Eliminating pollutants generated from combustion and preventing environmental impact after coal burning.
